Education

With a background in law enforcement, I hold degrees in both Criminal Justice (B.S.) and Psychology. I began my formal ministerial journey in 2012 as the youth minister for the Gillette COC and shortly after attended the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver where I received my Bachelor’s of Theology. From there, I accepted the associate minister position for the Cheyenne COC from 2014 to 2018. After leaving Cheyenne in the Fall of 2018, I founded my company, Beyond The Highlighter. I continued to study the Greek language and publish Bible Keywording Guides through the company while preaching for churches in Utah and Wyoming. I am currently enrolled in the Master’s program at Bear Valley. 

 

Bio: 

I was born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming. Although my wife is also from Gillette, we didn’t meet until we were in our twenties while I was in preaching school. We’ve been married since March of 2015. We were each converted through the campus ministry at the University of Wyoming a few years apart and would be considered first generation Christians as far as the church goes. Kylie is a Big Game Disease and Research Biologist (what a title!) and I have been a preacher since 2014. We both love things like hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, skiing (except in Nebraska, am I right?) etc.

  • 2009 Rock-Paper-Scissors champion of the University of Wyoming 

  • 154lb left-handed bracket winner of the 2010 Douglas Wyoming Arm Wrestling Tournament (154lbs was a while ago…eesh). 

  •  I love all things marksmanship, especially pistol shooting.
